When it is raining in Oxford Street the architecture is no more important than the rain, in fact the weather has probably more to do with the pulsation of the Living City at that given moment.
Living City and its catalogue were not about traditional architectural form, but its opposite: the formlessness of space, behavior, life
Situation was simply a source of street-level pleasure for architects to study firsthand, the raw material of a new architecture of events. Archigram conceived of situation in a more architectural, more plastic way than the situationist.
“The masses” were in fact aggregates of individuals, freed from the yoke of collectivism by their own, personal agendas for the city. There could be as many Living Cities as there were subjectivities. This was how Archigram attempted to explain its rather woolly sense of “Situation”:

This thing we call Living City contains many associative ideas and emotions and can mean many things to many people: liking it or not liking it, understanding it or not understanding it, depends on the personal associations. There is no desire to communicate with everybody, only those whose thoughts and feelings are related to our own.

We can talk about information networks in 2048, which are similar to social networks of 2010 and based on the foundations of the same principles. However this distributed network forms the structure of the whole system, every node in the network participates the existence of global network. The availability of one node – one person – affects the others, as one goes offline, it shuts down the connection around itself and others find an alternative way to connect to network.

In this scenario, information is tied to certain time and space, as one person change its location and time, the information he reaches will be different from the previous. If we think about the information we gain by experience, the interaction with ‘objects’-know how- we can still talk about the same scenario. “Global Information” of know how will no longer exist, and instead that knowledge gained from experience will be valid for that certain time and space.

Interaction with objects that is changing constantly will be happening with a smart material that changes its feedback in certain time and space. This is related with the performative creative learning process, as in a condition where there will be no memory of the past of an object but a general sensation from the that object.

An art institution is an important realization for such creative learning process. As in information networks scenario we cannot talk about places, but locations with certain properties. In this case diverse natural condition is chosen as locations, which the smart material ties its information to. Waterfront, parks, underground and height are showing different intensive properties, where energy flow mostly occur. The smart material will interact with these locations to form states; gas, liquid, solid, which helps for artist to get in touch with the material and transform it to realize their ideas. The new forms emerge from this new material for the activity, ‘painting, sculpting, music, and visual effect’.

Intensive properties of natural conditions define the properties of the material for these activities.

Artists activity in the city forms a distributed network throughout the city, which effects and gets effected by the material its formations. Two way interaction that forms the material and its existence in the city, as well as the distributed network formations of the artist. “

One instance for this is the parks in rush hours, the one slight moment when oxygen, carbon dioxide ratio, pressure and temperature changes. That moment where, park, subway/park,waterfront/subway,waterfront/park,waterfront meets material show certain properties that the artist, who uses it can only experience and gain knowledge for that moment and space.

a total sharing of experience   —- think you are inside a structure and you interact with it – and create a library of movements

how you can store your movements – how this structure react to your movements

you can sell your movements to someone else – your movements are actually stored inside that structure

structure that imitates human movement. they store the information in the structural genes.

structures that stores human movement information

because ____

in 2048 – information will be anywhere, and it can be accessible in any case. law makers cannot force copyrights to people and it will be an open source world with no

value to hold information. on that case the know how which is still material – learned by experience – will become valuable.
